With over 40 years of expertise in the building services industry, we specialise in designing mechanical and electrical systems that are not only functional but also sustainable, elegant, and tailored to the needs of the modern world.

Our team is made up of highly skilled engineers who are chartered with the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE). We combine our deep technical knowledge with creativity to deliver solutions that align with architectural vision, structural form, and the ever-evolving demands of our clients.

The Team.

MEng (Hons), CEng, MCIBSE
As one of the founding directors at Design Foundry, and prior to that over 15 years with one of the UK’s largest M&E consultancies, I am dedicated to ensuring the success of your project.
I strongly believe that the built environment plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of people’s lives and shaping the landscapes they inhabit. I am passionate about creating integrated designs that consider how people interact with their surroundings and the long-term impact on their environment.
I firmly believe that engineers must operate as integral members of a collaborative team, delivering sustainable buildings while addressing all other essential requirements of a project.

BEng (Hons), CEng, PhD, MIET, CIBSE
As one of the Founding Directors at Design Foundry, I am responsible for the successful delivery of projects.
With a proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget, I am committed to listening to clients' needs and ensuring effective results. My extensive experience in MEP design, coupled with practical installation expertise, guarantees that all design proposals are both practical and efficient.
After completing my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, I joined a leading Mechanical, Electrical, and Piping (MEP) services consultancy in 2001. I am also a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET), further affirming my commitment to the highest professional standards.

HNC, TMIET
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, I take on the role of an electrical project lead. This involves not only planning resources, but also coordinating the delivery efforts of other team members in the electrical department.
This leadership responsibility complements my primary focus on designing electrical systems, ensuring that the designs are not only highly effective but also aligned with the clients’ needs.
With a background in electrical contracting, I transitioned into project management before furthering my education at the University of Plymouth. Since joining Design Foundry in 2022, I've had the rewarding experience of integrating my prior expertise with my enthusiasm for creative problem-solving.

BSc (Hons), IEng, ACIBSE
Since joining the industry in 2001, I have been lucky to work on a great number of projects providing me with the opportunity to become multi skilled in many aspects of mechanical design engineering.
I began my training in a medium sized, multidisciplinary practice as a mechanical engineer. During this time, I gained my BSc (Hons) degree in Building Services Engineering and subsequent IEng registration from UWE – The University of the West of England.
I offer extensive knowledge and design experience skills from concept right through to realisation. Utilising innovative problem solving based upon good practice and practical experience enables me to yield cost effective designs.

BEng (Hons)
I specialise in the design of mechanical systems for buildings, with a strong focus on delivering optimised user comfort, energy efficiency, and sustainability here at Design Foundry.
My expertise includes performing detailed calculations and utilising advanced modelling software.
After earning my BEng in Mechanical Engineering, I began my career in 2019 at a prominent Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) services consultancy, where I gained extensive experience in diverse building services projects. In 2022, I joined Design Foundry, where I continue to lead and contribute to multidisciplinary projects across a variety of sectors.

BSc (Hons)
Previously worked in retail and educational management. At 37, made a career change and earned a degree in Architectural Engineering. Strong interest in green infrastructure.

Currently studying Building Services Design through an apprenticeship. Has been working at Design Foundry for several months.

Joined Design Foundry as an Electrical Technician while in his first year at Exeter College. Won the Technical & Professional Apprentice of the Year award for 2024.
