Market Street, Falmouth, is a brownfield site redevelopment featuring 14 residential dwellings, ground-floor retail units, and a basement car park.

The existing town centre location presented challenges in accommodating the necessary MEP services to support the development. To overcome space constraints and mitigate acoustic issues associated with air source heat pumps, we implemented a ground source heat pump system to provide heating and hot water.

Internally, the apartments and landlord areas required meticulous attention to detail to meet the developer’s and end client’s brief for small power and lighting design.

As with many retrofit projects, the key to success lies in a commitment to the iterative design process and a thorough understanding of the various consultants and external bodies influencing the design. By supporting these stakeholders and recognising our central role within the team, we were able to collaboratively resolve issues pragmatically, delivering favourable outcomes for the client.
