Complete MEP design for the full refurbishment of the Tavern and catering kitchen. -
Located in the heart of London’s Piccadilly, the historic RAF Club stands as a proud symbol of tradition and camaraderie. The Club’s timeless elegance is being further elevated through a meticulous refurbishment of its renowned Running Horse Tavern, kitchen, and ancillary support areas, including the Kathern and back-of-house facilities.
Sustainability is at the core of this refurbishment, with our mechanical and electrical design prioritising energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact. The transition away from gas cooking and heating is a key element, achieved through the integration of air source heat pumps for heating, cooling, and hot water generation.

The RAF Club refurbishment exemplifies our commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable MEP solutions while preserving the building’s historic character. Through close collaboration with the interior design team, we are successfully implementing a bespoke lighting scheme that enhances the Tavern’s architectural charm and creates a warm, inviting atmosphere.
The scheme is being meticulously modelled using our lighting design software, providing accurate visualisations and ensuring seamless coordination with the overall design. A dynamic lighting control system is being implemented, allowing scene adjustments to achieve the desired atmosphere and lighting levels
Our detailed MEP design, including the installation of an advanced catering canopy and the transition to air source heat pumps, will significantly improve energy efficiency and reduce the Club’s carbon footprint. This project highlights our ability to blend innovation with tradition, providing elegant, functional, and sustainable spaces that meet the highest standards of hospitality.
